Intellectual Property (IP) also known as Piracy, has become one of the most important and sought-after commodities by all nations of the world. IP theft has grown considerably in recent years resulting in vast economic losses. Experts estimate that product counterfeiting has a global economic impact of over $500 billion per year. Many terrorist groups use the proceeds from the sale of counterfeits to fund their global operations, and governments lose billions in tax revenue, jobs and investment capital from foreign nationals.

 

DVD's, CD's, Computer Software and recognizable brand name clothing are just a few products illegally manufactured everyday. We conduct undercover field investigations to identify product counterfeiting operations and other unauthorized activities at the manufacturing, distribution, and retail levels. Our investigators maintain a vast network of informants and law enforcement resources, to identify offenders, organized criminal enterprises and trends in the marketplace. Pinpoint focuses on civil or criminal investigations and seizures, but also employs remedies, using in-house and outside counsel.

Training School

The Security Act of 1992 mandates training and licensing for all armed and un-armed security guards. Besides the certifications that the Department of State, Division of Licensing requires for all guards, we provide an array of training classes that will elevate awareness and knowledge. Our Instructors are highly motivated with extensive law enforcement backgrounds and are always expanding on their training and qualifications.

Unarmed Guards

8 Hour Pre-Assignment Training Course

 

This course is the minimum requirement to work in security in New York State. This training class is developed in accordance with the NYS Security Guard Act and presents an overview of a security guard's duties and responsibilities under the law. The certificate is earned by passing the exam at the end of the class. This 8-hour training certificate must be kept as permanent record of your completion of the course. Under the law you must produce the original training certificate at the request of an employer. This certificate must also accompany the security guard's registration application when submitted to the Department of State.

 

16 Hour On The Job Training Course (OJT)

 

This is the second training program. Within 90 days of working as a security guard, State law requires completion of the 16-hour On The Job Training (OJT) Class. This course consists of two additional 8 hour classroom days. The course materials are labeled Part A and Part B. The material does not overlap so that you can take these classes in any sequence. The OJT objectives expand on topics relating to basic functions and responsibilities. All subjects are consistent with the security guard's specific duties, the nature of the workplace and employer requirements. An exam is given after the second class. The OJT is completed only once and the certificate is kept as permanent record.

 

8 Hour Annual In-Service Course

 

This training must be completed each calendar year following completion of the 16 hour course. This program is designed to meet current training needs and refresh guards in changes in the security field. Each guard must complete this course as a prerequisite for renewal of the guards registration.

In this course, the individual will learn how to reduce the inventory losses inside a retail store due to employee theft, shoplifting, fraud, vendor theft and accounting errors.

The Use of Metal Detection - 4 Hr.

In this course, the individual will learn to establish performance requirements and testing methods for hand-held metal detectors used to find metal weapons and/or metal contraband carried on a person.

Anti Terrorism / Bomb Threat Analysis - 4 Hr.

In this course, the individual will be able to identify and respond to the signals of a verifiable threat introduced by:
